Lander University’s College of Education invites applications for an Assistant Professor with expertise in Elementary Education. This teaching-focused, tenure track position emphasizes high quality teacher preparation, scholarly productivity, and service to the university and profession. We seek an energetic, collaborative educator committed to preparing effective teachers for the diverse learners of grades 2–6.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Teach undergraduate courses in Elementary Education, potentially including: Mathematics methods, Science and social studies methods, Assessment and instructional planning, Classroom management and differentiated instruction,
• Supervise and mentor teacher candidates in school-based field experiences.
• Support program assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Serve as an academic advisor for Elementary Education majors.
• Participate in department, college, and university committees and initiatives.
• Collaborate with area schools, mentor teachers, and district partners.

Required Qualifications

• Doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Curriculum and Instruction, Elementary Education, or related discipline.
• Minimum three years of successful teaching experience in grades 2–6 (or relevant elementary settings).
• Demonstrated commitment to effective, student-centered instruction.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supervising teacher candidates in clinical or student-teaching settings.
• Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Mathematics education, Science Education, Social Studies Education, Instructional Technology, Innovative teaching practices, Curriculum development.
• Experience with CAEP accreditation processes or P–12 school partnerships.
• Experience teaching at the university level.
