Job Description
North Idaho College is seeking a passionate and student-centered Assistant Professor of English to join our innovative English and Humanities Division in the Fall! This position will support students in composition, rhetoric, and critical thinking. On our beautiful lakeside community college campus, we believe it is important to help first-year students develop critical writing and thinking skills essential for their continued academic success. As part of a collaborative team, youll also assist and advise students, contribute to curriculum development, and support our commitment to student success.
Our ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a community college environment, has excellent communication skills, and is dedicated to inspiring our diverse student population. A strong background in composition and rhetoric, combined with a deep understanding of pedagogy and best practices for student success, is essential. Experience in programs that support student retention, such as first-year experience (FYE) programs or a writing center, and a passion for fostering an inclusive learning environment will set you apart.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in English with an emphasis in rhetoric and composition, literature, linguistics, or related field. Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from multi-cultural backgrounds.
Starting pay range: $52,359 - $72,670

Work Site Location: Coeur d' Alene Campus
Work Schedule: This tenure track faculty position has summers off, with pay and benefits spread over 12 months!
