Job Summary/Basic Functions
The College of Business at Eastern Kentucky University, an AACSB International accredited school, invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Finance and Economics beginning August 2026. Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in Finance, Economics, or a closely related field (Ph.D. or D.B.A.) from an AACSB International accredited institution. ABD applicants may be considered with evidence of a scheduled doctoral defense that occurs no later than May prior to a Fall appointment and must have their doctoral degree awarded (verified by official transcripts) at the time of appointment. The position begins August 2026.
The position serves the Finance and Economics courses in the undergraduate business core and potentially in the MBA program. It requires excellence in and a commitment to teaching. In addition to face-to-face instruction, some online teaching will be helpful. The successful candidate will maintain a workload consistent with the needs and priorities of the college and the institution. Courses may include, but are not limited to, banking, financial planning, financial literacy, financial technology, macroeconomics, microeconomics, personal finance, and other related fields. The successful candidate will teach in-person courses, although some semesters may include online classes.
Conducting and publishing high-quality scholarly research in economics, finance, or a related area in peer-reviewed journals consistent with the College of Business requirements for Scholarly Academics is required. Other responsibilities include service in support of Finance and Economics, service to the profession, the University, and the business community consistent with EKU's mission.

The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of artificial intelligence pertinent to the discipline and/or a willingness to pursue professional development to acquire such expertise.
