Non-Tenure Track Faculty Positions in Finance, Fall 2026 (3 openings)

Position Details

The Department of Finance at the Haslam College of Business, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, invites applications and nominations for three full-time, non-tenure-track faculty positions. These positions will be classified under the Lecturer, Teaching Professor, or Professor of Practice tracks, with the specific title and rank dependent on qualifications. Interviews will be conducted via videoconference (e.g., ZOOM) starting in October 2025 and we will invite the finalists for each position to campus.

The Department of Finance anticipates hiring three non-tenure-track faculty members to support teaching needs across the finance curriculum, which includes courses in corporate finance, investments, FinTech, real estate, and personal financial planning. While candidates will not be expected to teach in all areas of the curriculum, the department has a particular interest in hiring at least one individual who can contribute to course offerings in real estate and/or personal financial planning.

The specific course assignments, as well as the separate determinations of track (Lecturer, Teaching Professor, Professor of Practice) and rank of all hires, will be based on departmental needs and candidate strengths.

Successful candidates are expected to engage with students beyond the classroom to help them enhance their skills and career readiness. Faculty must be able to collaborate effectively within the Department, College, and University.

  • Start Date: August 1, 2026
  • Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
