The Department of Languages and Intercultural Studies (LIS) at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor specializing in Italian Studies to begin August 16, 2026. The teaching load for this position is 3/3. We seek a teacher-scholar who can demonstrate successful experience teaching undergraduate Italian language courses at all levels and who is also able to teach classes about Italian culture in English. The successful candidate will be expected to take on a leadership role in the Italian program, incorporate high-impact practices and inclusive pedagogy, and oversee curricular and extracurricular activities.

The ideal candidate’s teaching and research will demonstrate interdisciplinary engagement. Preference will be given to candidates with a research specialization in contemporary Italian cultural studies and demonstrable experience in program leadership. The ability to contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives, such as European Studies or Film and Production Studies is highly desirable.
