The Department of Mathematics at California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. CSUSM is located on a beautiful 304-acre hillside 15 miles east of the ocean in San Diego County, an area known for its growing technology, cyber, and defense industries. In 2022, CSUSM was ranked first in the nation in facilitating the upward social mobility of its students. To enable continued success in its mission, the university has an expanding student body and faculty, new buildings and infrastructure (construction just began on the new Integrated Science and Engineering Building), and new academic programs (e.g., engineering).

Our campus embraces student-focused learning and the teacher-scholar model. We offer hands-on and collaborative learning experiences, innovative technology, and academic programs relevant to the rapidly changing global environment. The campus has a STEM Center providing support to courses in STEM majors and a Center for Research and Engagement in STEM Education (CRESE) dedicated to enhancing STEM education and supporting an active and collaborative community of STEM education scholars. Further, CSUSM's balance of research, teaching, and service makes it one of the most supportive campuses for faculty research among the CSUs.
