Assistant Professor of Mathematics
Job Details
Provide effective classroom instruction in undergraduate mathematics courses ranging from freshman-level liberal arts mathematics to advanced senior-level courses.
Maintain a standard full-time teaching load of 12 credit hours per semester.
Design and deliver engaging and rigorous course content aligned with departmental and institutional learning outcomes.
Hold 10 office hours per week to provide student advisement, academic mentoring, and additional instructional support.
Participate actively in departmental, college, and university activities, including faculty meetings, committees, assessment initiatives, and commencement ceremonies.
Contribute to the recruitment, retention, and success of students, including mentoring at-risk or underprepared learners.
Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and improve the quality and effectiveness of the mathematics curriculum.
Demonstrate ongoing professional growth through scholarship, research, or professional engagement.
Support and affirm the Christian and liberal arts mission of Bethune-Cookman University.
Summer teaching assignments may be available depending on enrollment needs; summer teaching is not guaranteed.
