About the Position

The Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing (DCSN) at Toronto Metropolitan University invites applications for two tenure-track positions. Successful candidates will engage in a combination of:

  • Teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Scholarly research or creative activity with external funding
  • Service duties within the school and broader university community

Candidates are expected to:

  • Develop an innovative, independent research program producing high-impact outcomes for nursing education and practice
  • Contribute to BScN programs (Collaborative, Post-Diploma, Nursing Advanced Entry) and graduate programs (MN, MN-PHCNP, PhD) through teaching, mentorship, and student supervision
  • Engage in dismantling anti-Indigenous and anti-Black racism and promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in Nursing or a related field
  • At least one graduate degree in Nursing
  • Registration or eligibility to register with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Evidence of early research career (publications, presentations, community-based projects, research funding, investigator roles)
  • Demonstrated teaching ability and experience with course/curriculum review, pedagogy, and community-based teaching
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred/Asset Qualifications:

  • Indigenous nurses with a completed PhD
  • Experience as a primary health care nurse practitioner
  • Expertise in pathophysiology
  • Research in areas such as Indigenous health, Black health, health equity, digital technology, simulation, interprofessional education, leadership in health policy

Compensation

  • Minimum salary for Assistant Professor: $103,916.30 CAD per annum
  • Position falls under the Toronto Metropolitan Faculty Association (TFA) collective agreement
