"Assistant Professor of Philosophy FTTT"

Job Description

This position requires an Area of Specialization in 19th and 20th century Continental Philosophy.

The successful candidate will have an Area of Concentration in African American and Black Feminist Philosophy - in particular the Black Radical Tradition. It is expected the candidate will contribute their skills to the building of a transdisciplinary Black Studies curriculum.

Responsibilities include undergraduate teaching - Including General Education courses in History of Philosophy and Ethics - as well as regular Departmental duties

Responsibilities:

• Teaching 12 credits per semester of upper and lower-level language courses.
• Holding conferences with students and regular office hours Involved in advisement
• Attending Departmental and University meetings
• Be involved in different committees and help move the Department in a positive direction

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctorate degree in Philosophy preferred or eminent. 3 years of teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Able to use different teaching modalities, face to face and online teaching (Blackboard).

Work with students one-on-one to give additional help.

Motivate and engage students in class.

Has experience with diverse and non-traditional student bodies.

Has a promising research agenda.
