Department of History

The Department of History in the College of Liberal and Fine Arts at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) consists of 30 tenure/tenure track and fixed-term-track faculty members and offers undergraduate degree in history and a M.A. in history. Our faculty and students have been recognized regionally, nationally, and internationally for excellence in both research and teaching.

Salary Range: $4,000 per course.

Job Type: Part Time

Position Summary

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in the core curriculum, including U.S surveys and Introduction to World Civilizations. The instructor will prepare and deliver teaching material, learning activities and assess student performance. Must be available to teach in-person, although assignment can include hybrid and online modalities. This position will be provided with office space, a computer and a shared printer in the department office.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • The minimum qualifications for this position include a M.A. in history from an accredited institution and demonstrated excellence in teaching preparation.
  • This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching credentials and training that cover history pedagogies, experiential learning, curriculum development, and integrating technology into instruction are strongly preferred.
