Position Summary:
The primary location of this position is on the main Cullowhee, NC campus.
The School of Stage and Screen at WCU combines training for both film and television and theatre. This is a 9 month, one year fixed-term faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice for lighting and sound design and technology. The anticipated starting date is August 2024.
The faculty member will teach courses in lighting and sound design and technology and other general theatre courses as needed. This position also designs or mentors lighting and sound for the School of Stage and Screen MainStage season which can include lighting for television. The position teaches on a 3/3 load with commensurate releases for design work.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for this position:
Minimum Qualifications:
MFA in theatrical design with concentrations in Lighting, Sound, or Projections.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to teach and design all three areas of Lighting, Sound, and Projections.
