Job Summary

The University of Miami seeks a full-time faculty member for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. This position provides psycho-oncology services for the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, which may include:

• Mental health screenings
• Psychological assessment
• Individual and family therapy

Education Requirements

• Psy.D. or Ph.D. required
• Florida license to practice psychology required

Additional Skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Record of mentoring students is highly desirable
• Post-doctoral training in psycho-oncology is highly preferred
• Experience evaluating culturally diverse populations is highly preferred

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct mental health screenings and brief psychological interventions
• Provide comprehensive mental health services, including:
  • Psychological assessment and testing
  • Family and group therapy
  • Behavioral management
• Identify patients requiring psychiatric evaluation

Supervision Received

Reports to the Department Medical Director of Psycho-Oncology for SCCC

Additional Skills and Experience

• Teaching and mentoring graduate students, residents, and post-doctoral students is expected
• Experience working with cancer patients preferred
• Prior experience in interdisciplinary teams
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
