Assistant Professor, Organizational Leadership (NTT)
Job Description Summary:
The LaFetra College of Education at the University of La Verne invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in the Fall 2026 academic term with teaching responsibilities in the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Organizational Leadership program.
The Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership is an accelerated, blended doctoral program designed for working professionals. The program prepares leaders to lead with integrity, advance equity, drive innovation, and create lasting impact within their organizations and communities. We seek dynamic, creative, scholarly practitioners committed to high-quality doctoral teaching, student success, and applied leadership practice.
The successful candidate will teach doctoral-level courses in organizational leadership and transformation, which may include leadership theory; policy, finance, and human resources; planning for change; organizational culture and systems; strategic partnerships; innovation; equity-centered reform; and research methods. Faculty mentor working professionals and support the development of scholarly practitioners capable of navigating complex systems, aligning strategy with culture and resources, and leading sustainable institutional and organizational change.
Faculty in the program are expected to chair and/or serve on doctoral dissertation committees and guide candidates through the Dissertation in Practice or applied research process.
The program includes specialized concentration pathways, and we welcome candidates whose expertise aligns with community college leadership and/or organizational transformation.
This is a teaching-focused position with expectations for meaningful professional engagement, doctoral mentorship, and service consistent with a non-tenure track faculty role.
Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate will:
- Hold an earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Organizational Leadership, Educational Leadership, Higher Education, Business, Public Administration, Management, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Demonstrate depth and breadth of knowledge in leadership theory, organizational change, systems thinking, finance and policy contexts, and equity-centered leadership practices.
- Provide evidence as instructor of record successfully teaching doctoral-level or graduate leadership courses.
- Demonstrate experience effectively using technology to teach in blended and/or online doctoral programs.
- Be proficient in adult learning theory and instructional strategies appropriate for working professionals in accelerated formats.
- Demonstrate experience mentoring applied research, action research, improvement science, or Dissertation in Practice projects, with the ability to chair and/or serve on doctoral dissertation committees.
- Possess effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse adult populations in academic and professional contexts.
- Document experience working with diverse populations and demonstrate working knowledge of social justice, equity, and inclusive leadership practices.
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong collaborative leadership capabilities and a demonstrated commitment to integrity and fairness.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Leadership experience in community college settings, particularly in areas such as policy, finance, institutional effectiveness, student success initiatives, or equity-driven reform.
- Experience leading organizational transformation in complex systems undergoing disruption, restructuring, or growth.
- Experience teaching doctoral courses in policy, finance, strategic planning, organizational culture, systems leadership, or change management.
- Experience in accelerated or cohort-based doctoral programs.
- Experience chairing doctoral dissertation committees, particularly within a Dissertation in Practice model.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate emerging technologies, data analytics, or AI tools to enhance doctoral learning and applied research.
- Evidence of scholarly publication, professional presentations, consulting, or grant activity related to leadership, organizational effectiveness, equity, or organizational change.

Salary Range
Maximum: $84,371.70
Minimum: $81,030.58
