Assistant Professor
The Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology (MCDB) at the University of Toledo seeks to fill a tenure-track assistant professor faculty position. The preference will be given to candidates with strong immunology background, but candidates with expertise in other areas of molecular, cellular and developmental biology that complement with department research strength will also be considered. Applicants are required to hold a Ph.D. with postdoctoral experience and have a record of strong scientific contributions in their chosen field.
In addition to immunology, other areas of interest in the department include cell architecture and dynamics, regulation of gene expression, neuroscience, reproductive and developmental biology, and cell division/cancer biology, all unified by a common interest in cell signaling. It is important that the candidate is able to collaborate with other faculty within the department. Additional collaborative opportunities are available in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and other colleges at the University.
Facilities include a modern research complex with sophisticated laboratories and access to outstanding research instrumentation including confocal and super- resolution microscopes, flow cytometers/cell sorters, and a new transmission electron microscope. The successful candidate is expected to advance research excellence in the Department at the University of Toledo by establishing an externally funded research program. The candidate is also expected to contribute to undergraduate and graduate education. The Department currently offers B.A., B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees.
