Offer Description
The Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining, and Geology at Wrocław University of Science and Technology is seeking candidates for the position of research and teaching assistant professor. The candidate for this position should have a specialized education in geodesy and cartography and possess excellent knowledge of satellite geodesy and higher education, including familiarity with modern industry software and the latest geodetic measurement techniques. They should possess aptitude for teaching and supervising students. They should also possess the ability to conduct independent research and work collaboratively. The position's research and teaching competencies include satellite geodesy and higher education, including the analysis of coordinate time series, modeling local and regional crustal movements, and SLR and GNSS techniques. These competencies are essential for teaching in the areas of space engineering and advanced satellite reference systems.

The duties of an assistant professor include:
- conducting teaching classes,
- conducting scientific research and development work,
- acquiring external funding for research,
- educating and mentoring students,
- preparing applications for research and R&D grants,
- preparing scientific publications,
- participating in commissioned work conducted by the Department,
- participating in the organizational work of the Department and the Faculty,
- continuous professional development,
- compliance with the rules of ethics, in particular the Academic Code of Ethics of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology.
Specific Requirements
The competition may be entered by a person who meets the following requirements:
- specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 - Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2020, item 85, as amended) and in the Statute of Wrocław University of Science and Technology,
- doctoral degree in engineering and technical sciences,
- predispositions for scientific and didactic work,
- scientific achievements documented by publications,
- knowledge of the English and Polish language,
- knowledge of issues related to: satellite geodesy and higher.
- additional advantage: experience in preparing research project applications,
- additional advantage: knowledge of basic programming.
- starting work at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology as the primary place of work within the meaning of the Law on Higher Education and Science.

In the subject line of the message, please indicate the reference number: AD/K80/08/2026. Applications from people who send their documents without indicating a specific reference number and sent after the deadline for submitting offers will not be considered.
Any information on the course of the competition is provided by the HR assistant at the e-mail address: aurelia.plewa@pwr.edu.pl. The date of receipt of the documents is decisive. The deadline for receipt of application documents is 3:00 p.m. on the day indicated in the Competition Information. Receipt of documents from the candidate will be confirmed by the HR assistant via e-mail to the address indicated in the application.
Applications from candidates will be considered by the Competition Committee appointed by the Dean of the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology. After the competition process is closed, applications sent by traditional mail to those who were not accepted will be returned. Interested parties will be able to collect them from the HR assistant within 6 months after the competition process is closed, with an acknowledgment of receipt.
The University reserves the right to reject the competition.
