Assistant Project Officer (at the rank of Research Assistant II) in the School of English

(Ref.: 534417) (to commence on March 1, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter, and work until March 31, 2027)

Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will provide administrative and research assistance to Professor Olga Zayts and contribute to a research project on university graduates transitioning to post-COVID-19 workplaces.

Duties include:

  • Assisting with the overall administration and research activities of the project;
  • Assisting with preparation of manuscripts for publication as assigned;
  • Managing the project’s websites and social media channels;
  • Creating publicity materials (e.g. infographics, posters, videos) to assist with promoting the project and disseminate findings;
  • Assisting with organizing academic events; and
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the project coordinator.

Essential Requirements

Applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree or above in English Language, Linguistics, Language and Communication, or a related discipline, with a minimum graduation GPA of 3.3/4.3 or equivalent (i.e. a high 2:1) from a reputable university. He/she should preferably be a Cantonese-English or Mandarin-English bilingual speaker, and possess excellent analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team under pressure.

Preference will be given to those with experience in supporting externally funded research projects, as well as proven proficiency in social media management and event organization.
