Offer Description
Dean of the Faculty of Management, Lublin University of Technology is hereby announcing an open competition for the position of Assistant (research-and-teaching) at the Department of Quantitative Methods in Management.
Job description:
- conducting scientific research in the discipline of management and quality science;
- publishing research results in peer-reviewed journals and monographs;
- improving one’s research methods and tools;
- taking part in organising scientific conferences and seminars;
- performing teaching duties, in particular delivering mathematic and statistic-related courses, in Polish and in English;
- preparing course documentation, e.g. syllabi;
- grading students’ assignments and papers, giving them feedback, and archiving these materials;
- entering data into the University’s IT system;
- holding consultations with students;
- enhancing teaching competences through internal and external training courses;
- engaging in the scientific and organisational life of the Faculty of Management and the Department of Quantitative Methods in Management;
- participating in activities that promote the University, the Faculty and the Department;
- maintaining availability and a full commitment to academic work.

- curriculum vitae – academic CV listing scientific, teaching and organisational achievements with direct reference to the qualification criteria (max. 5 A4 pages),
- motivation letter,
- personal questionnaire for the applicant,
- copies of diplomas required for the position,
- list of past publications and/or professional achievements and other information about the candidate's activities,
- copies of other documents confirming academic achievements, professional qualifications and additional competencies, including a list of scientific achievements, knowledge of foreign languages and, in the case of foreigners, the Polish language.
- candidate's declaration that Lublin University of Technology will be his/her primary place of work,
- information from the National Criminal Register with respect to offences specified in Chapters XIX and XXV of Articles 189a and 207 of the Criminal Code and the Act on Counteracting Drug Addiction of 29 July 2005, and in the case of persons having citizenship of a country other than the Republic of Poland, information from the criminal register of another country or statements referred to in Article 21(5) to (7) of the Act on Counteracting the Threat of Sexual Offences and the Protection of Minors of 13 May 2016),
- a statement by the candidate that he/she has familiarised himself/herself with the Regulations on Reporting Violations of the Law at Lublin University of Technology;
- consent clause for processing of the candidate's personal data for the purpose of the recruitment process (RODO).

Skills/Qualifications
- master degree in a field or specialty related to mathematics, statistics, data analysis, or cognitive science,
- research interests in the field of management and quality science,
- Interest in measurement, artificial intelligence, machine learning, process quality research, or human-machine interaction,
- Aptitude for teamwork and a predisposition for scientific and teaching work,
- knowledge of Polish and English, spoken and written, in the case of foreigners, knowledge of Polish should be confirmed by a certificate,
- disposition at the primary place of work, i.e. Lublin University of Technology,
- advanced knowledge of Python, R, and SQL programming languages,
- alignment of research interests, previous academic activity, or the planned research development path with the research and teaching profile of the Department of Quantitative Methods in Management,
- documented organizational activity.
The following will be considered an advantage:
- scientific achievements, publications or other professional achievements related to measurement, use of artificial intelligence and machine learning methods in technical sciences or management and quality sciences,
- documented experience in teaching, in particular subjects in the area of mathematics/ statistics/ use of artificial intelligence and machine learning,
- implementation or cooperation in the implementation of research projects.

Eligibility criteria
Eligible candidates must meet the conditions specified in Article 113 of the Act “Law on Higher Education and Science” of 20 July 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended) and in the Statute of Lublin University of Technology.
Selection process
The announcement of the competition results does not result in the establishment of an employment relationship. The decision to hire is made by the Rector. Lublin University of Technology reserves the right to close the competition without a decision and to respond only to selected offers.
Information referred to in Article 18 [3ca] § 1 of the Labor Code (regarding the initial salary level) is available in the Regulations of Employee Compensation at Lublin University of Technology (Order No. R-4/2026 of the Rector of Lublin University of Technology dated February 2th, 2026, regarding the introduction of the Regulations of Employee Compensation at Lublin University of Technology).

In accordance with Order No. R-42/2026 of the Rector of the Lublin University of Technology dated May 14, 2026, the templates for the required attachments are included in this announcement and are available for download.
