Assistant Women'S Softball Coach
Summary
Reports to the Head Softball Coach and Director of Athletics. Assist the Head Softball Coach with various aspects of the varsity softball program; i.e., coaching, recruiting, academics, and game/practice management and fundraising. The assistant softball coach will adhere to RMAC rules, regulations, and NCAA Division II bylaws. In addition, the assistant softball coach will represent MSU Denver in a positive manner and continue to uphold the program's philosophies and the athletic department's core values.
Specific Responsibilities
- Assist Head Coach in coaching team (Practice planning, individual workouts, game strategy, scouting reports, etc…)
- Assist in developing and implementing training and game plans.
- Secondary Academic Coordinator for the softball team including study hall monitoring, class attendance, class registration, grade monitoring, and progress towards graduation.
- Assist Head coach with recruiting (i.e. tournaments, showcases, games and camps) scheduling, organizing unofficial/official visits, tryouts etc…
- Organize and inventory of softball equipment and uniforms
- Assist in game day preparations including bat list preparation and bat testing.
- Assist in scouting and video analysis.
- Assist with organization and implementation of fundraising opportunities, (which include, but are not limited to facility rentals, Rockies 50/50 raffle, Red & Blue Fund, etc…)
- Lead organizer of camps and clinics (Nike Youth Camp, Prospect Camps, etc.)
- Community service coordinator and monitor community service hours through HelperHelper.
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Director of Athletics
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Previous playing and/or coaching at high level/competitive softball
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of collegiate coaching
