The University of Zagreb, Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, based on Article 14, Paragraph 6, Item 15 of the Statute of the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, hereby announces a
PUBLIC CALL For the selection and employment of:
- One employee for the position of Assistant in the scientific area of Biotechnical Sciences, scientific field Biotechnology, for a fixed-term (6 years), full-time position, in the Laboratory for Toxicology of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry
Mandatory requirements:
- All applicants must meet the general conditions prescribed by the Labour Act (“Official Gazette” Nos. 93/14, 127/17, 98/19, 151/22, and 64/23) and comply with the provisions of the Higher Education and Science Act (“Official Gazette” No. 119/2022), the Statute of the University of Zagreb and the Statute of the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology.
Preferred criteria:
- Active proficiency in spoken and written English;
- Computer literacy;
- Letters of recommendation from two university professors are preferred;
- Knowledge and laboratory experience in the field of in vitro toxicology and/or animal testing are preferred.
Documents required with the application:
- Curriculum vitae;
- Cover letter (indicating the position applied for);
- Certificate from the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute (HZMO) on the data recorded in the HZMO database, i.e., electronic records; not older than 30 days from the date of publication of this call;
- Proof of appropriate educational qualifications to demonstrate that the candidate meets the requirements for the position (copy of the degree certificate; transcript of grades with the average grade during studies);
- Proof of the stated desirable and mandatory criteria and experiences;
- Decision recognizing foreign educational qualifications for candidates who obtained their degree abroad;
- Proof of citizenship;
- Proof of knowledge of the Croatian language at C2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages – for foreign nationals.
Applicants (m/f) who are shortlisted may be invited for an interview and/or testing.
Applicants entitled to preferential employment rights according to:
- Article 102 of the Act on Croatian Veterans of the Homeland War and Members of Their Families (“Official Gazette” Nos. 121/17, 98/19, 84/21, 156/23);
- Article 48 of the Act on Civilian Victims of the Homeland War(“Official Gazette” Nos., 84/21)
