Job Summary The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position (Assistant or Associate Professor) in the Department of Kinesiology in the primary area of exercise metabolism or nutrition. Review of applications will start November 3rd , 2025. The applications received by then will be guaranteed full review. Note: The applications received after the deadline will be reviewed as necessary to fill the position.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in exercise science, nutrition and related areas
- Engage in research
- Serve the University, profession and community; and be a collegial member of the Department.
- This position will contribute to a new undergraduate minor/concentration area in nutrition to be offered by the Department of Kinesiology beginning fall 2026.
- Maintain regular on-campus presence.
- Attend departmental meetings.
- Terminal degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or nutrition with emphasis in metabolism; excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills; and willingness and ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with departmental colleagues, faculty and other professionals in other disciplines both within and outside of UT Tyler.
- Post-doctoral experience preferred; experience with college-level teaching and scholarly writing; teaching in distance education format (hybrid, online); high potential for independent research and external funding of research; experience with statistical analysis and grant-writing.
