Job Description Summary

The Associate Clinical Director will coordinate and oversee the access to immediate counseling services for students. Reporting to the Director of Counseling, this position will work in collaboration with the administrative team and contracted third parties including Penn's teletherapy provider, Mantra Health and Protocall/Welltrack to ensure a coordination of counseling services to meet the needs of both undergraduate and graduates students. The position will oversee the "Drop-In" team and ensure students have access to clinical services in a timely manner in accordance with the accuity of need.

This position will also provide direct patient care including but not limited to conduct crisis evaluations and serve as a liasion among medical and behavioral health providers to support patient-centered care. The position will be responsible for clinical assessment, documentation, consultation, clinical supervision and training.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the Drop In Team including staffing, training, scheduling, and coordination of services for patients seeking care. Ensure scheduling transparency and sufficient staff is available to meet needs throughout the day.
  • Serve as clinical consultant to counseling staff and student facing offices to ensure the needs of students are being met and follow up plans align with need. Provide supervision to 5-7 members of the counseling staff.
  • Review and evaluate reporting from teletherapy provider and after hours calls to ensure seamless coordination of care for students.
  • Provide clinical support through individual psychotherapy and/or group therapy to support clinical needs of Counseling center.
  • Serve in a leadership role representing Student Health and Counseling as appropriate when coordinating with other student services, academic offices or administration.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Previous experience with supervision of staff in similar settings.
  • Higher education experience preferred.
  • License in Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with highly diverse audiences, including students, faculty members, staff, and university administrators, preferably in higher education settings.
  • Exhibit appropriate sensitivity to others, and interface effectively and inclusively with students.
  • Demonstrated strong people skills, organizational skills, and ability to work on a team; a general understanding of higher education policies and practices preferred.
  • Alternative work schedule may be required, including evenings and/or weekends.
