Mays Business School Overview
Mays Business School is in the midst of the most transformative period in its history, propelled by sweeping academic, programmatic, and strategic renewal aligned with its mission of developing leaders of character who make a positive difference and its vision of building a better future through business. Over the past three years, Mays has experienced unprecedented momentum growing revenues from approximately $98M to $134M, expanding corporate partnerships, and launching innovative new programs, including the Flex Online portfolio, a suite of rapidly scaling graduate degrees designed for the future of work.
Graduate business education is now the fastest-growing enterprise within Mays. Master’s enrollment has nearly doubled since 2021, fueled by explosive demand for the Flex Online MBA and newly introduced online master’s programs that dramatically extend Mays’ reach to working professionals. The Flex MBA suite alone grew from 67 students in 2021 to nearly 1,000 in 2025. These programs, along with new AI-enhanced pedagogies, stackable credentials, industry-embedded learning, and experiential capstones, position Mays at the forefront of next-generation graduate education.
Mays’ Path to Preeminence strategy has already delivered measurable progress: new dual-degree MBA pathways; multi-city executive education expansion; national AI competitions; the new Engineering MBA; and the launch of Creative Destruction Lab–Texas. The school is also expanding its physical footprint, with the Wayne Roberts ’85 Building opening in 2025 and a new state-of-the-art graduate facility projected for 2029 designed to support large-scale, innovative, AI-enabled graduate learning.
Located in College Station, Texas, one of the nation’s fastest-growing cities and central to the booming Texas Triangle innovation corridor, Mays benefits from rapidly expanding partnerships with corporate accelerators, leading employers, and national research institutes. With strong leadership from Dean Nate Sharp, exceptional fundraising momentum, and a strategic plan focused on growth, excellence, and innovation, Mays is positioned to become one of the nation’s most globally connected and impactful public business school ecosystems.
The next Associate Dean for Graduate Programs will step into a moment of extraordinary opportunity leading a graduate enterprise of scale, strength, national visibility, and immense untapped potential. This leader will not simply steward programs; they will shape the future of a top public graduate business portfolio poised for preeminence.
