About This Opportunity

The Associate Director Infrastructure Engineer (Electrical) will lead the University’s electrical engineering and asset management function, overseeing strategic planning, lifecycle management, and the delivery of reliable, high-performing electrical infrastructure across all campuses. This role is responsible for developing and implementing the Strategic Asset Management Plan, forecasting infrastructure needs, and driving optimisation initiatives, while providing expert technical leadership and supporting capital and operational projects. The position also leads and develops a high-performing team, ensuring strong stakeholder engagement, governance, and continuous improvement in both service delivery and infrastructure outcomes.

About You

The ideal candidate will have postgraduate-level qualifications (or equivalent experience) in electrical engineering or management, along with current RPEQ registration. They will bring extensive expertise in electrical systems, strategic asset and energy management, and the full infrastructure lifecycle, supported by strong knowledge of WHS legislation and financial management.

The role requires the ability to lead and develop teams, manage stakeholders, and communicate complex technical information effectively, alongside experience with digital engineering and facilities management systems. A proactive, adaptable approach, with the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in complex environments, is essential, with experience in large organisations or higher education considered advantageous.
