Associate Director of Alumni & Friends Engagement - Clark University
Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of Alumni & Friends Engagement (A&FE), the Associate Director of Alumni & Friends Engagement will serve as a staff liaison and volunteer manager for alumni volunteer groups, advise the Student Alumni Relations Committee (SARC), develop and implement virtual and in-person programming, assist with alumni engagement and customer service responsibilities, and provide general support for University Advancement (UA) initiatives.
The position requires a mindful individual with a high level of initiative, exceptional customer service skills in supporting various stakeholders and representing the institution, and the ability to organize and manage multiple projects within a dynamic environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as a staff liaison and volunteer manager, in partnership with the Director, for Clark's alumni volunteer leadership groups: Alumni Council, GOLD Council (Graduates of the Last Decade), Clark Black Alumni Association (CBAA), and Clark LGBTQ+ Alumni Association (CLAA); support volunteer groups in development of engagement in regional, virtual, and on-campus events.
- Serve as staff liaison to the GOLD Council leadership, working with them to develop short- and long- term goals for continued development of a yearly programming plan and on-boarding and recruitment efforts for recent and young alumni.
- Serve as staff advisor to the Student Alumni Relations Committee (SARC); assist current students with the design and implementation of alumni-related programming.
- Work with the Director to develop a dynamic volunteer engagement strategy for alumni recruitment for the volunteer groups and create additional volunteer opportunities for alumni on- and off-campus.
- Partner with campus stakeholders and offices to connect alumni and assist in the tracking of alumni engagement across campus.
- Assist in providing all volunteer groups with meaningful assignments, excellent customer service, and high-level communication.
- Collaborate with members of the UA Events team, working to support regional events and other events, as needed.
- Develop meaningful opportunities of support, in partnership with the Director, for larger UA philanthropy efforts throughout the year.
- Serve as front line engagement for alumni customer service, responding to questions or requests through all lines of communications from alumni (phone, email, intake form).
- Work to ensure up-to-date data management of all volunteers, volunteer groups, and volunteer opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned related to supporting UA events and initiatives.

- Bachelor's degree required.
- 1-3 years of related experience and demonstrated success providing a high level of thoughtful customer service.
- Demonstrated success in volunteer management, stakeholder support, and event planning.
- Must be able to work independently and able to adapt to meet the changing needs of volunteers.
- Effectively steward confidential information to ensure sensitive data and alumni information is handled with care.
- Strong communication skills and familiarity with various software programs: Microsoft Office suite and Raiser's Edge or similar CRM technology.
- Position can/will be hybrid with flexibility for in-person and remote work.
- Availability for evening events and meetings with volunteers is an expectation of this role.
- Occasional weekend work is required, and travel will be coordinated with the Director of Alumni & Friends Engagement and the UA Events team for engagement at regional UA events.

Additional Information:
Expected Hiring Range: $70,900 to $78,650

The compensation for this position will be determined based on factors that include available budget, internal equity, and the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, education, and other job-related credentials. This range represents Clark University's good-faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting consistent with Clark's compensation philosophy and internal alignment.
