Associate Director of Early College & Dual Enrollment

General Statement of Duties:

Under the direction of the Assistant Dean of Early College & Dual Enrollment, the Associate Director will provide direct oversight of early college and dual enrollment programming for existing Early College Partnership High Schools and assist with the development of new early college initiatives. The Associate Director will work closely with partnering high school staff and MWCC early college staff to ensure that student outcomes are aligned with program benchmarks set forth by DESE/DHE Early College Statewide Leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development, establishment, and maintenance of early college programs that foster student success, collaborative partnerships and high-quality academic instruction;
  • Collaborate with partnering high schools on the development of recruitment and enrollment plans for new and continuing early college students;
  • Review student transcripts, test scores and other placement measures to determine student readiness for college coursework;
  • Collaborate with advisors, students, families, college administrators, faculty, and high school staff to identify and evaluate student challenges? systemic and/or individual ? working toward resolution together with appropriate support staff;
  • Create and update program handbooks in collaboration with the Assistant Dean;
  • Present to schools, parents, students, and community organizations about Early College programs, the benefits of participation, and the admission/enrollment process;
  • Create and oversee communication plans for Early College students and families, including newsletters, updates to programs on the MWCC website, and informational flyers;
  • Review application templates on an annual basis and work with admissions to make updates as needed;
  • Attend Advising Managers Meetings as the department representative and share updates with the Early College team as appropriate;
  • Collaborate with faculty teaching DE/EC contract courses, and with faculty who have DE/EC students in individual courses, serving as a resource for questions or concerns;
  • Oversee book and material requests in collaboration with the Director of Operations and work with program staff to ensure materials are distributed to the correct locations for the start of classes;
  • Stay current on Mass Transfer, Commonwealth Commitment, and collaborate with 4 year institutions on early college pathways to ensure that students are taking classes that best align with their future goals;
  • In collaboration with the Assistant Dean, work with faculty/deans on curriculum alignment activities between the college and K-12 partners to ensure that students are prepared to be successful in college coursework;
  • Oversee the consistency of departmental student documentation, ensuring that TargetX is maintained with active student note documentation;
  • Support DE/EC grant administration and compliance, including writing and reporting, and work with Data Specialist on the tracking and reporting of DE/EC metrics;
  • Oversee College Success Strategies curriculum development and ensure the consistency of this curriculum for students across all early college programs;
  • Plan, attend, and facilitate early college events including open houses, information sessions, enrollment events, and orientations in collaboration with program advisors;
  • Develop best advising practices in collaboration with the Assistant Dean, and ensure that advisors are following these guidelines across programs for all students;
  • Utilize TargetX for admissions and retention processes including application review and student record documentation, and monitor TargetX usage for program advisors;
  • Write and present reports as necessary, including early college annual reports, in collaboration with high school partners;
  • Work occasional evening events as coordinated by the Assistant Dean of Early College and Dual Enrollment, such as open houses, accepted student days, orientations, and graduation;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a higher education setting required, early college experience required.
  • Well-developed written and verbal skills to present and exchange complex academic information to diverse set of individuals and groups.
  • Ability to work evenings and travel as needed.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience preferred.
