Position Summary

The role of Engagement and Annual Giving Programs is to build a strong and lasting connection between the university and its community, nurturing a sense of pride, belonging, and active involvement.

We strive to establish a pathway that enables alumni, parents, students, and friends to develop a lifelong philanthropic relationship with WashU, contributing to its growth, sustainability, and continued excellence.

The Associate Director reports to the Director of Reunion and Class Gift Programs. The primary area of focus will be oversight of reunion committees with an emphasis on peer-to-peer outreach and solicitation.

Primary responsibilities include working with the director on identifying and recruiting alumni committee members, providing volunteer training for outreach and solicitation best practices, and collaborating with internal colleagues to identify potential class challenge donors. The ideal candidate should be innovative and enthusiastic about expanding this program to drive philanthropic support and increase participation in our annual fund peer-to-peer solicitations.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in recruitment, training, and oversight of volunteer committees. Develop plans to meet or exceed volunteer committee participation goals and reunion class fundraising goals by collaborating with internal staff to identify strong prospects.
  • Develop educational marketing materials for both external and key internal partners that promote Reunion Class Gift and reunion challenge opportunities.
  • Work with key internal partners to identify and implement a strategic marketing and stewardship schedule for class challenges reunion donors.
  • Recruit, train, and oversee the Senior Class Gift Committee, and plan and implement Senior Class Scholarship Fund campaign.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This position is located in St. Louis, MO and the targeted hiring range for this position is $58,400 - $66,000.

Salary Range

$58,400.00 - $99,700.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
