The Associate Director of MBA Student Life plays a pivotal role in shaping a comprehensive and engaging extracurricular experience for over 1,600 Wharton MBA students.
Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Student Life, this position collaborates with a dynamic team to oversee a cluster of approximately 400+ first- and second-year students, ensuring alignment across the two-year MBA journey. This role involves cross-campus collaboration within the University of Pennsylvania to help students achieve their personal and professional goals. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, balancing onsite and remote work.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Advising Student Organizations:
Mentor and support social and community service-focused clubs, fostering operational success and governance. Promote collaboration and shared learning among student organizations.
Cluster Support:
Serve as a strategic advisor to four cluster boards and their individual leadership teams, providing guidance and support to optimize cluster engagement, enhance student governance, facilitate effective team formation, and foster meaningful relationships within and across clusters.
Student Development & Coaching:
Foster involvement in developmental opportunities across clubs and activities that support personal aspirations and advance organizational excellence.
Collaborate with the EVP of Student Leadership & Engagement for the Wharton Graduate Association (WGA) to design and implement the biannual Leadership Summit curriculum and coordinate a monthly training series to empower club and conference leaders with essential skills and resources.
Thought Leadership:
Contribute to strategic planning and assessment of Student Life activities, driving innovation and improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in student life/ student affairs, program management, or related fields.
- Skilled in student engagement, governance, club operations oversight, with strong project management, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Some travel is required.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level.
