Advertised Job Summary
The Associate Head Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach with the management and administration of all activities related to the men’s and women’s swimming program per University and Department objectives and exercising direct supervision of the recruiting, training, and coaching of male and female swimming student-athletes. Will be required to assist in the direction and control of the program in accordance with NCAA, SEC and University rules and regulations.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Division I coaching experience preferred, experience implementing a successful recruiting plan strongly preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Extensive and technical knowledge of the sport.
- Ability to communicate effectively with recruits, students, parents, staff and members of the fan base and community.
Job Duties
Recruiting – Exercise direct control over all aspects of recruiting for men’s and women’s swimming, including recruiting strategy, monitoring the transfer portal, recruiting scheduling, and working with compliance and academics on recruit admissions. (30%)
Development/Training – Plan and administer effective and creative practice and training strategies. (35%)
Competitive Results – In conjunction with Head Coach, organize and implement individual plans for student-athletes, assist student-athletes with competition preparation and practice, coach during competition, give advice and assist with strategy, scout recruits and opponents as needed. (35%)
