(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Responsible for assisting the head coach in developing a competitive Division I program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, recruiting, coaching and training, budget management, alumni and booster relations, opponent scouting, purchasing equipment and uniforms, scheduling of games and practices, public relations, fundraising and monitoring program NCAA rule compliance. Assists with program public relations and fundraising. Adheres to all rules and regulations of KSU, NCAA and the conference. Assists in the organization and planning of practices, player development, academic support and monitoring, regional recruitment of quality prospective student-athletes, attendance at team competitions. Assist with administrative duties assigned by the Head Coach. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists the head coach in implementing the program's plans for the direction and development of a nationally competitive Division I program
- Performs a variety of functions, assigned by the head coach; include but are not limited to coaching, budget management, recruiting, public relations and fundraising
- Supports the implementation of plans and programs that will achieve appropriate and necessary academic progress, retention and timely graduation of each student-athlete on the roster
- As assigned by the head coach, takes on leadership or support roles in department-wide priorities and initiatives
- Coordinates the entire recruiting process including, but not limited to, scouting, evaluation, correspondence, arranging official visits, etc.
- Serves as the primary liaison with the coordination on in-person recruiting visits, the maintenance of scholarship offers, recruiting targets and recruiting commitments, updating the coaching staff on recruiting issues and communicating eligibility and/or admission status with prospective student-athletes and coaching staff
- Assists the Athletic Compliance office with the administration of applicable recruiting software to effectively monitor recruiting
- Manages the logistical planning of on-campus official and unofficial recruiting visits by prospective student-athletes and their family
- Organizes and assembles coaches recruiting books, signee checklist, calendars, prospect and coaches mobile telephone directories
- As assigned by the head coach, organizes, supervises, coordinates and employ sound coaching techniques and practices
- Develops and teaches defensive philosophy and individual position skill development
- Participation in community service projects, speaking engagements, and booster relations
- Enforcing policies and procedures as outlined in the student-athlete handbook, team notebook, and university student handbook
- Serves as the primary point of contact in organizing the scouting report schedule for opponents, performing game analysis and evaluate game film
- Assists with assigned sports teams training and camps
- Assists in preparing student-athletes physically, mentally, and emotionally to compete for Conference Championships and post-season competition
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's from an accredited institution of higher education.
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license
Current, and valid CPR/AED certification
Required Experience
Three (3) years relevant experience coaching in a post-secondary level program, professional athlete, professional tour participant or professional coach in a related sports program.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Preferred Experience
Previous coaching experience in a NCAA Division I level program

Able to serve as a spokesperson for the intercollegiate sports program
Able to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with student-athletes, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni and the public
Able to work and travel with team early mornings, afternoons, evening, and weekends, as needed
Participates in university and Department of Athletics events
Able to work independently on multiple projects in a fast-paced rigorous environment at one time
KNOWLEDGE
Possess a thorough knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all NCAA, conference, State of Georgia and university policies, rules and regulations
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, technology, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs (i.e., Microsoft Office suite, Synergy Sports Tech, FastModel suite of software and/or other athletics software programs)
Strong attention to detail and strong organizational and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone etiquette

This is a supervisory position.
This position does not have any financial responsibilities.
This position will be required to drive.
This role is considered a position of trust.
This position does not require a purchasing card (P-Card).
This position may travel 50% - 74% of the time
