Associate Lecturer (Real Estate)
The role
We are looking to expand our team of inspirational Real Estate Associate Lecturers who deliver high quality learning experiences with expertise gained through teaching, or relevant industry experience or both.
You may be asked to teach both undergraduate and postgraduate students, usually through either a lecture or tutorial format, and may also contribute to the design of some learning activities and assessments.
You will have well developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical and theoretical issues relevant from an academic and/or professional perspective in two or more of the following:
- Property Construction Projects
- Residential Development & Design
- Real Estate
- Real Estate Economics and Finance
- Valuation
- Property Management & Professional Practice
- Property Law
We can offer a range of different options for flexible hours;
We have core teaching hours which are aligned to block week delivery which are set weeks throughout the year up to 30 hours or we can offer 1 or 2 days a week throughout the semesters or we can offer more ad hoc delivery on a needs basis or for marking. You will be contractually enrolled into the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS) – one of the largest and most generous defined-benefit pension schemes in the country.
Each year you will earn a secure pension benefit of 1/57th of your salary and the University will pay pension contributions towards the cost of this pension (currently worth about 29% of your salary). For a starting salary of £40,000, for example, the University would pay just over £11,400 in the first year of your employment and you would earn a pension of £702 p.a. for that year (payable from your State Pension Age).
If you’re a member of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) directly before joining us, you can choose to remain in USS instead.
