About the Role:
Flinders University is seeking an outstanding Associate Professor or Professorial Research Fellow to provide research leadership in electrical and electronic engineering with a focus on energy grid integration. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead high-impact research in areas such as smart grids, renewable energy integration, power electronics, grid stability and future energy systems.
You will contribute across:
- Leading world-class research and developing innovative solutions for energy grid integration
- Attracting substantial competitive research grants and contracts
- Supervising and mentoring Higher Degree by Research students and early career researchers
- Building strategic collaborations with industry, government and international research partners
This position is research-focused for the first five years of appointment, followed by a continuing Teaching and Research position.
This position is open to national and international candidates. Relocation and visa support may be available.
About You:
You are an internationally recognised researcher with a strong record of research impact in energy systems and electrical or electronic engineering. You are visionary, collaborative, and experienced in leading research teams, mentoring researchers, and translating research into real-world impact.
Depending on your career stage, you will bring:
- A PhD or equivalent in electrical and/or electronic engineering or a closely related discipline
- A distinguished international research record, including high-quality publications and significant competitive grant success
- Proven research leadership and supervision experience, including mentoring early- and mid-career researchers and Higher Degree by Research students
- Track record of establishing national and international research collaborations and translating research outcomes
