Description
A.T. Still University is seeking an exempt Fellow Postdoctoral Research on the Mesa, Arizona campus.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for day-to-day coordination of clinical outcomes investigations organized and relevant to post-doctoral training.
- Identify, develop and implement a research study to advance post-doctoral training and expertise.
- Monitor recruitment and retention of research subjects.
- Provide and support research data handling functions such as collection, processing, quality monitoring, and entry.
- Support ongoing activities of the ATSU SalivaEpi Biobank by performing patient recruitment and enrollment.
- Activities could extend to recruit participants, obtain participant consent, and perform saliva sample collection, sample storage, and data entry.
- Schedule research protocol activities.
- Coordinate start-up activities for clinical research protocols.
- Ensure that the goals, objectives, and activities related to research projects are achieved and evaluated in a timely manner; moreover, organize/facilitate appropriate planning, development, and implementation of assigned scholarly activities.
- Collaborate with community stakeholders to establish partnerships and engage the community in research initiatives, promoting community-based research principles.
- Assist in research dissemination including oral presentations, posters and manuscript preparation.
- Assist with management of fiscal and physical research resources.
- Assist researchers in the preparation and submission of progress reports and financial status reports.
- Monitor research grant programmatic activities for timeliness and appropriateness/accuracy.
- Assist in the production of activity reports from current clinical research projects.
- Assist in research grant proposal development.
- Support research protocol development.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Demonstrated expertise in technical mentorship, specifically guiding students through the full research lifecycle by breaking down complex statistical modeling, overseeing reproducible programming workflows, and teaching systematic research methods.
- PhD/doctorate in an oral health or other health professions field (e.g., DPH, PhD in Epidemiology, etc.)
- Be computer literate.
- Familiar with program evaluation techniques and budget management.
- Interact well with patients, including those with special needs, and their caregivers.
- Experience with laboratory procedures is preferred, particularly molecular biology techniques and workflows related to biospecimen processing, DNA extraction, genotyping, and other laboratory methods commonly used in genetic and genomic research.
- Team player who can also work independently
- Assertive, possess a positive and proactive approach, work's well under pressure, and highly professional.
- Possess the ability to work well with persons of diverse educational socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Outgoing and personable; detail oriented
