Audiologist/Speech Pathologist
Position Description
Administers and interprets a variety of tests, such as air and bone conduction, and speech reception and discrimination tests, to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech. Diagnoses and treats speech and language problems, and engages in scientific study of human communication. Evaluates speech and language skills as related to educational, medical, social, and psychological factors.
Major/Essential Functions
- Works with children with repaired cleft palates to assess the effectiveness of telemedicine-based treatments vs face-to-face treatments.
- Collects and analyzes data to meet the objectives and milestones needed to fulfill NICHD funding requirements without deviating from IRB-approved protocols.
Required Qualifications
Requires a master's degree in a related field and 0-2 years of experience. May be required to meet certain state licensing requirements. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
