The Department of Modern Languages and Comparative Literature at Baruch College of the City University of New York invites applications for a tenure-track position for an Assistant Professor in Spanish with a specialization in modern Peninsular Spanish literature, culture, and cinema. We are seeking a candidate who is able to teach 19th, 20th, and 21st century courses on peninsular literature and culture, as well as Spanish language courses at all levels and courses in film studies.

Compensation and Benefits:
$84,011- $98,806; commensurate with qualifications and experience
CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 3.25% effective 9/1/2025 and 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications:
Completion of the Ph.D. in the appropriate field before January 2026 is a requirement. A strong research portfolio and experience in language teaching are essential.
