Posted Job Title Bioinformatician Job Profile Title Bioinformatician A Job Description Summary Applies principles and methods of bioinformatics to assist scientists, principal investigators and other laboratory team members. Discusses study design with research teams and applies bioinformatics tools to visualize, analyze, manipulate or interpret molecular data. May build and maintain databases for processing and analyzing genomic or other biological information. Job Description Job Responsibilities- Genomics and data science expertise in Next‑Generation Sequencing analysis, from QC to modeling and interpretation
- Advanced R workflows (tidyverse, stats, visualization) and scalable scripting in Python for reproducible analysis
- Robust differential gene expression and pathway/functional enrichment (pseudobulk + single-cell designs)
- Single-cell and spatial omics integration and latent modeling with scVI for batch correction and label transfer
- Regulatory genomics and motif analysis using tools from MEME Suite or HOMER.
- Cloud-native NGS workflow execution using AWS Batch and object-storage patterns with Amazon S3
- Handling of large genomics and multi-omics matrices (HDF5, loom, h5ad)
- Containerized pipeline and environment development (Docker, Apptainer/Singularity) for HPC and cloud portability
- Querying, transforming, and summarizing major genomics resources (GTEx, GEO)
- Version-controlled project delivery in Git-based repositories for transparent, documented collaboration
- Multi-species ortholog mapping and annotation harmonization for integrative genomics analysis
- Publication-grade visualization using ggplot2 and ComplexHeatmap
- Emerging leadership, mentorship, and multidisciplinary collaboration in international genomics research teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and developing leadership skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and with international colleagues.

- Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
This position is contingent upon grant funding.
Job Location - City, State Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Department / School Perelman School of Medicine Pay Range $57,500.00 - $77,716.00 Annual Rate Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level.
