Job Summary:
About the Booth Attendant position:
The Booth Attendant is in the Division of Facilities Planning & Management’s (FP&M) within the Department of Transportation Services. Transportation Services is responsible for the coordination and administration of all transportation-related services for the UW campus community. The primary functions of Transportation Services include the sale/management of parking permits, special event coordination, maintenance and enforcement, construction coordination, lot and booth operations, citation payments and appeals, information technology, financial, transportation planning, and development of multimodal options.
The Booth Attendant will assist permit holders and hospital visitors at the Lot 75 Main Exit Parking Ramp with both digital and manual payment transactions, including cash, credit cards, and hospital validations. This position will also respond to inquiries to help visitors navigate their parking needs. This role will participate in trainings such as internal audits to support checks and balances, as well as career development and growth opportunities.

Full-Time: 100% FTE
Hours generally scheduled Friday through Monday from 12:30PM to 11:00PM. Occasional nights, weekends and holidays may be required for this position.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Exchanges tickets and cash from customers as they enter or leave facilities
- Informs customers of parking policies and acts courteously. Assists customers by giving directions, calling for emergencies, and locating vehicles
- Maintains fee computers
- Maintains lots by contacting enforcement for the citation or removal of vehicles that are illegally parked
- Ensures safe and doors are locked whenever leaving the booth and at the end of each shift
- Assists in the training of new employees
- Monitors and responds to traffic flow with a high level working knowledge of T2 parking system to spontaneously resolve lot traffic issues

Compensation:
$20.00 minimum
The minimum rate for this position is $20.00, but it is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:
- Experience with cash handling, processing payments, resolving issues, and providing information to support customers effectively
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally
- Customer service experience with a diverse range of customers, including varying backgrounds, needs, and communication style
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience or ability to learn two-way radio, intercom and phone communication with customers and staff
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent; preferred
