Business Faculty
Summary of Position
The Business Faculty is a full-time, 9-month/166-day position. The faculty member is responsible for teaching 15 credits each fall and spring semester. Courses may be taught using both traditional and non-traditional delivery methods, including face-to-face, online, computer-aided, distance learning, self-paced, and interdisciplinary. Faculty may need to teach at any RRCC campus and at a variety of times (days, evenings, and some weekends).
The faculty member develops and evaluates curricula, ensures alignment with community needs and regulatory requirements, documents curriculum changes based on assessments, implements retention strategies, and integrates technology into coursework. Additional responsibilities involve maintaining office hours, assisting with departmental duties, providing academic advising to students, participating in college events, serving on committees, and representing the college in the community. Professional development is a key component of the role, with opportunities for growth to support both teaching and service functions aligned with the college's goals.
The Business program at RRCC is distinguished by two foundational commitments that guide instruction across the discipline.
First, faculty employ active and collaborative learning pedagogies in both in-person and online environments. Students engage with course content through project-based learning, real-world problem solving, case studies, and applied activities that meaningfully connect them to learning outcomes through authentic contexts.
Second, the program has strategically integrated Cultural Intelligence (CQ) as a conceptual framework across three core business courses. This integration provides students with a consistent lens for understanding organizational culture and a shared vocabulary for analyzing key business concepts. Students develop awareness of their own cultural intelligence and learn to recognize it as a professional asset.
RRCC is committed to creating a community of best practices in facilitating teaching, learning, and student success. As such, we seek faculty who will be engaged members of the college community through active service on committees, collaboration with colleagues, and who possess a commitment and passion to facilitating improved outcomes for students and communities the college serves.
