Your next career opportunity

As a Business Manager at the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, you will have the opportunity to oversee strategic and operational management, ensuring the growth and success of our Centres and School. You will engage with diverse stakeholders, manage complex relationships, and provide high-quality, customer-focused support. This role offers a chance to develop operating plans, manage budgets, and collaborate on initiatives that enhance research and teaching excellence.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Operational Management: Efficiently manage projects, provide strategic advice, and enhance administrative systems.
  • Resource Management: Oversee budgets, ensure compliance, and provide guidance on funding applications.
  • Planning and Policy Development: Coordinate development projects, establish stakeholder relationships, and support policy improvements.

You will have experience in strategic management within a complex organisation, demonstrating strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to drive growth and success in research and teaching.

You may also:

  • Have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Possess skills in research administration, financial management, and business management.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exhibit strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Be adaptable and open to new challenges, with proficiency in standard software and financial systems.

The Melbourne School of Population and Global Health is a respected leader in the field of public health education, research and knowledge exchange. MSPGH was established in 2001 as the first school of its kind in Australia with a vision to make a difference in the population and public health sphere – building on the substantial assets of our University to advance public health in communities nationally and internationally – with a strong focus on Indigenous peoples.
