We now have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Team Leader, Administrative Services to join our fast paced and dynamic team. 

  • Full time, continuing opportunity
  • Based at our Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus in picturesque tropical North Queensland
  • HEWL 7: $97,205 – $107,490 plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions, leave loading and other generous employee benefits

WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE 

The Team Leader, Administrative Services plays a pivotal role in delivering client-focused administrative services that are efficient, responsive, and aligned with JCU’s strategic priorities and Divisional objectives. You will lead a collaborative, service-oriented team culture while ensuring operational excellence across all administrative functions.

Your primary focus will be maintaining continuity of high-quality services while safeguarding process integrity and consistency. Working closely with business leaders, you will ensure alignment across systems and data, identify opportunities for improvement, and resolve procedural inefficiencies.

In this dynamic leadership position, you will:

  • Champion a high-performance culture that prioritises service excellence and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with university policies and regulatory requirements, mitigating risks related to financial controls, data privacy, and reporting.
  • Manage staffing processes, including recruitment, induction, and professional development, to build capability and engagement within your team.
  • Drive process improvements through technology and innovation, streamlining workflows and enhancing team efficiency.
  • Provide strategic oversight of administrative operations, delivering consistent, effective support for internal and external stakeholders.

Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping a future-focused administrative service that supports JCU’s mission and fosters continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE 

We are seeking a qualified professional with proven experience leading and managing administrative teams, focused on service excellence and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational and multitasking skills, the ability to prioritise competing demands, and a talent for identifying and implementing process improvements. Knowledge of administrative functions, including travel coordination, event management, HR support, and document preparation is essential, along with proficiency in administrative systems such as finance, HR, and document management tools. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, as is a sound understanding of policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks within a higher education context.
