Business Operations Manager 2
Stanford University's nano@stanford is the largest shared research facility, supporting cutting-edge, multidisciplinary research and education in nanoscale science and engineering.
Position Summary: Reporting to the Managing Director, the Business Operations Manager 2 provides strategic and operational leadership for the administrative and business functions of nano@stanford, managing finance, compliance, external user engagement, and capital programs to ensure operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
Core Duties:
- Direct staff and provide leadership to achieve organizational goals, including hiring, retaining, career coaching, and performance accountability.
- Guide supervisors on human resources policies and programs.
- Develop and implement strategic plans, make decisions on objectives, and oversee resource allocation.
- Interpret and ensure compliance with regulations and policies, and direct process improvements.
- Oversee finances, including developing, monitoring, and analyzing budgets.
- Represent the organization's business operations internally and externally.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience in administrative and financial management, or equivalent combination.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated leadership, planning, communication, financial expertise, negotiation, analytical skills, and expertise in business applications and industry standards.
- Certifications and Licenses: None.
Physical Requirements: Constantly perform desk-based tasks; frequently sitting; occasionally stand/walk, reach, use telephone, write by hand, lift up to 10 pounds; rarely twist, sort, or lift 11-20 pounds. Reasonable accommodations will be provided for disabilities.
Working Conditions: Occasionally work evenings and weekends.

Salary: Expected pay range is $160,294 to $199,273 per annum. Stanford offers comprehensive benefits.
Additional Information: Full-time, regular position, Grade K, Hybrid Eligible.
