Salary Range: Up to $60,918 annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Job Summary
The Campus Advocate/Case Manager provides professional skills in the field of social work and counseling, including case management, short-term consultations and advocacy, and crisis intervention. The position leads services designed to minimize the impact of barriers or situational distress on the academic and personal pursuits through effective case management and the coordination of care between campus and community resources and provides wellbeing related services, both direct and indirect.
Core Responsibilities
- Provides individual case management, advocacy, and guidance to students navigating resources, care and concerns.
- Collaborates with campus professionals including Student Affairs staff, contracted staff, student success staff and others in the best interests of the student.
- Collaborates with the campus community and San Antonio community to identify resources and referral sources for students.
- Provides informed triage, assessment and service recommendations; including referring to campus and community providers.
- Identifies crises/emergencies and intervenes and/or refers to emergency resources in order to promote the safety of the students and campus community.
- Assists campus professionals by facilitating their students' connection to community resources, social services, financial resources, insurance and medication, including referral and access as needed to private therapists and medical care.
- Provides guidance to students who request assistance with university processes such as reporting, counseling, administrative, medical and health, academic accommodation, legal processes, police, and/or law enforcement.
- Attends as an advisor at any university adjudication proceedings upon request.
- Collaborates with others, develops, maintains, and monitors a case management system, compliant with professional and ethical standards, to facilitate timely initial assessment, continuity of care and follow-up for students.
- Follows up to ensure students are appropriately assessed and provided information and referral resources in accordance with treatment recommendations; provide follow-up and additional case management and support as appropriate to students following hospitalization, mental health evaluation or discharge.
- Completes timely case documentation; maintain referral and outcome statistics and provide regular and summary reports to leadership and professional staff.
- Provides consultation services in order to help the University community better understand wellbeing services.
- Serves as a consultant to the university community, including students, faculty, staff and families regarding wellbeing services.
- Evaluates interventions using outcome measures to assess efficacy and make adjustments or changes as needed.
- Delivers outreach programming that addresses stigmas and encourages help-seeking.
- Serves as liaison or committee member in designated area
- Participates in staff training and orientation as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Three (3) years of related work experience.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Supervisory experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Master's Degree from an accredited university in Higher Education, Student Personnel Administration, Education, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
- Demonstrated skills in advocacy.

Working Conditions
Office Environment. Requires use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events. After hours and weekend work is required on an occasional basis. Occasional after hours and weekend work or overtime may be required.
Physical Demands
Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary, if walking and standing are required, only occasionally. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
This position will work primarily on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
This position is contingent upon a successful background check. Verification of a valid driver's license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) may be completed as applicable. Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
