Position Duties

This position supports that mission by facilitating campus-wide conversations and initiatives related to equity, and inclusion under the guidance of the Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer (CEIO). The role involves responding to inquiries, assisting with problem-solving, and collaborating with departments across the university to implement inclusive best practices. The position also contributes to institutional assessment by providing research design, data analysis, and interpretation to inform and advance the university's equity and inclusion goals. This role is grounded in the principle that equity and inclusion benefit the entire campus community.
Essential Functions
Schedule and lead initial equity and inclusion training sessions, activities, conversations and meetings for students and others under the supervision of the CEIO. Develop and deliver foundational equity and inclusion presentations and trainings for students and others based on relevant research literature and input from partners. Meet with any undergraduate and graduate students to insure equal opportunity and to assist with problem solving and mentoring on discrimination, diversity, equity, and inclusion matters. Provide referrals to appropriate support and/or processes across the university as appropriate. Perform routine and ad hoc project work, diversity and inclusion activity implementation, and university-wide event planning, meeting deadlines as assigned. Assist the CEIO to collaborate across the offices of student development, academic affairs, enrollment management, human resources, advancement, and other offices to promote equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion educational efforts/activities for students and others. Prepare data reports and analysis. Analyze and interpret data to develop tables, graphs, charts and presentations. Provide progress reports and feedback analysis, and alert supervisor to barriers and significant problems. May supervise student employees. Assists with special projects, as assigned. Draft office materials including web content, social media content, and statements aligned with the University vision, mission and values and inclusive of current diversity, equity and inclusion literature and theory, as required. Oversee, implement, and maintain office website content. Draft routine correspondence and public statements, create spreadsheets, presentations, documents and files. Organize and maintain electronic and other files and records. Proofread documents for accuracy. Collect and prepare meeting materials and information for use in discussions and meetings, etc. Represent the CEIO in internal and external meetings, as assigned. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to work in ways that support the University's goals for institutional diversity, as well as the goals and values of a Catholic, Jesuit education. Ability to handle multiple complex tasks while maintaining poise and providing first-rate customer service. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (i.e Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and data systems. Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of quantitative and qualitative research methodology, diversity issues in higher education, diversity data collection and analysis. Excellent written and oral communication skills, efficient work habits, strong organizational and leadership skills, and strong attention to detail. Strong multi-tasking and follow-up skills with ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines. Ability to produce accurate work and prioritize effectively. Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion. Demonstrated experience organizing, planning, and coordinating events. Demonstrate affirmation of the University's mission and commitment to inclusive excellence, diversity and equity.
