Campus Development Manager

  • Remuneration: $169,373 to $189,440 pa (HEW10) (inclusive of $143,122 to $160,079 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
  • Location: Kelvin Grove (hybrid option available)

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Campus Development Manager to join Campus Services, Administrative Division.

The Campus Development Manager is part of the Campus Planning team and will proactively contribute to the development and use of the University’s physical estate. The position will take the lead role in planning for future University physical infrastructure requirements and develop a range of physical infrastructure plans and strategies that will underpin delivery of the University’s property development portfolio. This will ensure that the University is leveraging its physical estate and delivering its physical development in a sustainable manner which aligns with the University’s strategic vision, goals and priorities. The position will proactively engage and collaborate within Campus Services and across the University to develop outcomes which meet University needs.

Campus Services is responsible for a range of campus services to support the activities of the university. The department comprises the following areas:

The Campus Planning team works with University stakeholders to develop short, medium and long-term strategies and plans for QUT campuses, and deliver space solutions to meet growth and changes in our faculties and divisions. This includes strategies for campus experience, building occupancy, campus design, building development, leasing and capital investment, and the QUT Campus Master Plan..

What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications in a relevant area together with extensive relevant experience. 
  2. Demonstrated experience in fostering and applying contemporary urban and architectural design practices, and contributing to innovation in estate planning, design and delivery of physical infrastructure in a public sector or University context.
  3. Demonstrated ability to accurately and effectively interpret and apply legislation and policy in a public institutional probity environment with particular focus on planning frameworks and development controls.
  4. Demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish, cultivate, influence and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. 
  5. Demonstrated high-level problem solving and analytical skills and ability to develop and implement effective business improvement opportunities. 
  6. Demonstrated experience in engaging and managing specialist consultants in a University context with a sound understanding of relevant project management and procurement processes.
  7. Demonstrated high-level written communication skills including the ability to prepare clear and concise reports and complex correspondence for a variety of internal and external audiencesz
