Career Services - Junior Career Coach (Graduate)
Job Details
Graduate Students in this role fulfill various tasks in support of Career Services. Career Coach trains students and alumni on methods for leveraging their education and experience to achieve vocational goals, excelling in the workplace as Champions for Christ.
This Junior Career Coach position requires an individual who is pursuing a graduate degree. Applicant should also possess strong written and oral communication skills, professionalism, interpersonal skills including a collaborative and team-oriented work style, and a creative approach to coaching.
The position is part-time, for 20 hours a week. The employment period for this position is from the first day of class for the Fall and Spring semesters, until the last day of class for each semester.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Answer phones and taking messages for professional staff.
- Supporting students with a variety of resources primarily Handshake.
- Assisting professional staff members with projects.
- General office duties.
- Complete on-going training and attend regularly scheduled meetings.
- Support programming across all divisions of Career Services.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
Effective communication both verbally and in writing. Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Takes initiative, highly motivated and organized. Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
