Job Summary

Our lab is interested in improving healthy aging with nutritional approaches using mice as a pre-clinical model for discovery. In particular, we are investigating the benefits of time-restricted feeding and calorie restriction in improving metabolic disease in a mouse model of diet-induced obesity. We are seeking a conscientious, detail-oriented, motivated and enthusiastic research assistant scientist to join our team. You will be provided with technical and scientific training on-the-job in a friendly and collaborative environment.

Project Duration: Up to 3 years, 10-15 hours per week

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for the daily care of animals.
2. Assist lab personnel with the research procedures and techniques.
3. Sample processing.
4. Lab maintenance and support.

Preferences

• Students majoring in a Medical or Biological Sciences related subject are preferred.
• Students must be willing to work with mice.
• Students must be punctual, meticulous and rigorous in completing assigned tasks.
• Prior experience, background or interests in any of the following areas are also beneficial: Nutrition; Aging; Metabolism; Circadian Clock.
• The ability to work well as a team member with effective communication skills is essential.
