Center for Learning Innovation Manager
Job Description Summary:
This position supports instructional innovation and technology integration specific to the La Fetra College of Education and operates in coordination with, but distinct from, the University’s Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL). The Center for Learning Innovation Manager advances LFCE’s strategic priorities by supporting educator preparation programs, credentialing requirements, clinical practice, leadership development, and accreditation-aligned instructional design.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Education, Business, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field. Related experience may be substituted for required education on a basis set forth by the Department of Human Resources.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in educational technology, instructional design, or technology support in higher education or professional learning environments.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and supporting instructional technologies.
- Experience providing direct technical support and training to faculty or professional staff.
- Expertise with learning management systems and educational technology platforms.
- Familiarity with AI applications in education.
- Ability to translate technical information into clear guidance for non-technical users.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, data tracking, and reporting to measure outreach effectiveness.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in higher education.
- Earned doctorate from a regionally accredited school.
Specific Duties:
Duty: Instructional Design, Technology Strategy, and Innovation (College-Focused)
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend instructional technologies that support educator preparation, clinical practice, credentialing requirements, and leadership development programs within LFCE.
- Partner with LFCE faculty to design and redesign courses using evidence-based instructional design principles aligned with:
- State credentialing standards
- Accreditation requirements (e.g., CTC)
- Program learning outcomes.
- Support integration of multimedia, simulation tools, AI-supported learning applications, and PK–12-relevant technologies to enhance candidate preparation and applied practice.
- Assist faculty in developing digital learning assets specific to LFCE programs, including:
- Clinical supervision tools
- Observation and assessment rubrics
- Credential-aligned instructional modules
- Micro-credential and CEU content.
- Conduct environmental scanning of technologies relevant to teacher education, school leadership, counseling, and human development programs.
- Pilot instructional technologies within LFCE programs and assess readiness for broader adoption in coordination with CTL when broader implementation is appropriate.
- Develop short- and mid-range instructional innovation plans aligned with LFCE strategic priorities.
- Establish program-level criteria and metrics to evaluate instructional technology effectiveness and impact within LFCE programs.
Percentage of Time: 25%
Duty: Faculty and Staff Technology Support (LFCE-Specific)
- Serve as the primary instructional design and academic technology resource for LFCE faculty and staff.
- Provide consultation related to:
- Program-specific LMS use
- Fieldwork documentation systems
- Assessment platforms
- Multimedia tools used in educator preparation
- Offer one-on-one design consultations to support course development, digital content creation, and technology integration within LFCE programs.
- Develop LFCE-specific templates, toolkits, and guides aligned with accreditation and program standards.
- Coordinate with CTL and the Office of Information Technology to ensure alignment and avoid duplication of university-wide services.
- Escalate enterprise-level technical issues appropriately while maintaining a College-centered support role.
Percentage of Time: 15%
Duty: Faculty Development and Responsible AI Integration (College Context)
- Design and deliver LFCE-focused professional development workshops related to:
- Digital pedagogy in educator preparation
- AI literacy for future educators and leaders
- Technology integration in PK–12 settings.
- Support faculty in modeling responsible and ethical AI use within teacher, leadership, and counseling preparation programs.
- Promote universal design, accessibility, and inclusive technology practices aligned with credential and accreditation requirements.
- Facilitate a College-based community of practice focused on innovation and instructional improvement in educator preparation.
Percentage of Time: 25%
Duty: Innovation Lab and Center Operations
- Oversee daily operations of the Center for Learning Innovation and Innovation Lab.
- Ensure the Lab supports:
- Simulation and practice-based learning
- Multimedia production for educator preparation
- Micro-credential development
- Applied technology experiences for candidates.
- Supervise student employees, graduate assistants, and support staff as assigned.
- Develop and maintain lab policies, procedures, and scheduling systems.
- Oversee procurement, installation, and lifecycle management of lab technologies.
- Collaborate with the Dean and department chairs on budget planning and capital equipment replacement.
- Align Lab initiatives with LFCE’s strategic plan and programmatic goals.
Percentage of Time: 15%
Duty: Project Management and Continuous Improvement
- Manage College-level instructional technology initiatives and innovation pilots.
- Track technology usage metrics and faculty engagement within LFCE.
- Prepare reports and documentation supporting:
- Accreditation requirements
- Annual program reviews
- Strategic planning initiatives.
- Identify performance gaps and recommend continuous improvement strategies specific to LFCE programs.
- Maintain regular coordination with CTL leadership to ensure complementary—not duplicative—services.
Percentage of Time: 15%
Duty: Performs other related duties as assigned.
