Chair of Psychology
The Department of Social Sciences in the School of Arts & Sciences at Columbia College invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor in Psychology who will also serve as Chair of Psychology, beginning August 2026. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and teach in our undergraduate programs. A terminal degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an accredited institution is required. All required documents must be completed for the application to be reviewed. This full-time tenure track faculty role reports directly to the Associate Dean of the Department of Social Sciences. The position requires visionary leadership and oversight for all aspects of the Psychology program. This position is a nine-month, full-time, tenure-track appointment. The standard teaching load is twelve credit hours for each of the fall and spring semesters. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to design and deliver courses in a variety of formats, including online and face-to-face modalities, and is expected to teach core courses and specialized courses in personality, statistics, research methods, psychological disorders, and clinical and counseling psychology.
