"Chicana and Chicano Studies - Part-Time Lecturer Pool"

The Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We are seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach in the following subject areas: Intro to Ethnic Studies, Communication Skills, Introduction to Chicana and Chicano Studies. This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Required Qualifications: Candidates for introductory courses (100- or 200-level) must have at least a Master's degree in the field relevant to the Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies curriculum. We require a Ph.D. or extensive professional experience for teaching upper-division courses (300- or 400-level). Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience at the college or university level and strong teaching evidence. Highly desirable is a candidate who can work effectively with a broad mix of students, including those with diverse cultural backgrounds, and varying socioeconomic and family college-going experiences. Preference will also be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment, and those with relevant work experience and professional capabilities.
