Civil Engineering and Construction Management - Department Chair

Position Summary

The College of Engineering at California Baptist University, an evangelical Christian university affiliated with the California Southern Baptist Convention, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in the Department of Civil Engineering and Construction Management (CECM). In addition to faculty responsibilities, a qualified candidate will perform Chair administration duties that include, but are not limited to, leading the faculty within CECM department, develop and implement the strategic long-term plan for the department, assist in the recruitment of students and industry advisors, evaluate and monitor faculty and adjunct instruction, and participate in university events. The individual will have a good command of English, will be committed to the excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching in both lecture and laboratory environments, and have a passion for teaching and working with students. Additionally, interest and experience in leading teams of students in cross-cultural settings, joining in the development of curriculum and laboratories, and working with industry partners is preferred. The successful candidate will be expected to support the mission of California Baptist University. A PhD in a closely related field is required.

Teaching Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a wide range of courses within College of Engineering.
