About the role
Western Sydney University is looking for a passionate maths educator to lead its award-winning, cross-disciplinary Mathematics Education Support Hub (MESH) team.
Maths skills are crucial across a range of disciplines, including STEM, business, and health care disciplines across multiple Schools at Western, and we need a candidate who can lead the MESH team to support numeracy and mathematical literacy at Western.
You will have the opportunity to support students directly through workshops and consultations, as well as work with teaching staff on initiatives to strengthen numeracy and maths skills across diverse student cohorts. This position also involves identifying strategies for improving curriculum and assessment and delivery to support the mathematical literacy needs of students.
The MESH team is located in the Division of Education, which provides strategic direction to the University and educational support to Schools. As the Lead Learning Advisor, you will supervisor a team of 4 Learning Advisors and work closely with Divisional and School leaders to develop and deliver the strategies, initiatives and programs needed to enhance student engagement and support across the University.
About You
You will possess postgraduate qualifications or be progressing towards them, with extensive experience in mathematics or numeracy education, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training in a teaching environment, have demonstrate the capacity to design, organise, and deliver academic workshops in mathematics, statistics, and numeracy, and develop resources for both face-to-face and online delivery, familiarity with effective teaching resources and strategies for supporting students from diverse socio-cultural and language backgrounds is essential and have proven ability to manage and lead a team of staff, providing direction and support.
This is position is an important of Western’s co-curricular offerings and is critical to setting students up for success.
This is a full-time, ongoing position based at Parramatta South Campus with regular travel between campus a requirement of the position.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 8 $130,740 to $145,135 p.a. (comprising Salary of $110,477 to $122,641 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
